The Snaffle Bit Bar

The Snaffle Bit has been established for over 40 years and first opened its doors on the 10th of June 1962 by Frank and Ellen Campbell. Originally located in Howard Street, St Enoch Square, after 10 years the bar moved to its present home of 979 Sauchiehall Street in the bustling West End.

The Highland Connection

The Snaffle Bit has a huge following from the Western Isles and now with Gaelic speaking bar staff from Eriskay, Lewis as well as Skye to name but a few, the words above our door have never been more true - "Ceud mail failte".

This influence has been heavily felt as the jukebox of the lounge has been overtaken by bands such as Eriskay Lilt, Reel McKenzie as well as the Vatersay Boys all playing their own individual style of highland music.

Now with other local pubs such as the Islay Inn and the Ben Nevis bar the whole area has benefited from having a real highland community.
